Romeo: O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do; They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.
Juliet: Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake.
Romeo: Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take. Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged.
[Leaning in to kiss Juliet] [Enter Rosaline]
Rosaline: Oh Romeo, Romeo! With whom is thou speaking?
Romeo: [Surprised] Rosaline? Why do you care about whom I speak with?
Rosaline: O how I miss thee, Romeo. My love for thee is too strong, do thee still love me?
Romeo: Rosaline, I must tell thee something. There is another that I love… Juliet. [Puts arm around Juliet]
Rosaline: Ay, me! How my heart aches! [Directed to Juliet] It is thee whom steals Romeo’s love from me! [w/ growing anger] Thous't steal the love of Romeo!!
Romeo: Rosaline! How dare thee speak such a way to my dear Juliet?!
Rosaline: You loved me first! Romeo, how can thy love her?
Romeo: I no longer feel the passionate love I used to feel for thee. I do not wish to speak with thee any longer, Away, be gone!
Rosaline: Ay, how dare you betray me like this!
[Rosaline exits]
Juliet: Romeo, I am truly sorry. I have brought this upon thee, I best be going.
Romeo: [Holding Juliet back] No Juliet, please stay. I am lost for words by what just happened. I do not understand Rosaline’s sudden love for me, She is my past, thee are my future.
Juliet: Oh, Romeo! [Nurse calls for Juliet] My love for you is infinite. I must be going now, another kiss and I’ll descend.
[They kiss]
Juliet: Dear love, adieu! Until we meet again.
Romeo: Farewell, farewell my love.

This is great! I love how you incorporated the scene directly from the book so it wasn't confusing. One minor thing: I'm pretty sure Rosaline was a Capulet as well, so the line "Romeo, she is a Capulet, how can thee love her?" doesn't make a lot of sense (but I may be wrong, so make sure to check first.) Other than that, it was a great piece! - beachparty
I thought it was pretty good in general however I personally wouldn't of thought that Rosaline would say that Juliet is a capulet how could thee love her because Rosaline was also a Capulet. Another thing i don't think that you need to have so much of the beginning in because you could just give the setting to start. Ballet Slippers
I thought it was very well written, but I'm not a fan of taking the beginning right out of the play. It makes the scene seem less creative than the idea should be. I think that could be fixed by writing in your own dialogue and possibly paraphrasing the part you want from the play. Finally, in the line "Romeo, she is a Capulet, how can thee love her?," I'm pretty sure thee should be thy. On the other hand, I thought the piece was very well written and had a great idea behind it. - Demur Vixen
